AML under new ownership was restructured to comprise two business units: (1) Commercial division which continued the armoury business (sales of arms, munitions and accessories, cartridge reloading, arms minor repairs, etc) and (2) Countermeasures division which was incorporated as a separate company (Täuschkörper division). Additionally the Commercial division AML was the applicant for licenses and exporter of the countermeasures.

It should be noted that countermeasures, fall under the category of "export controlled" items because their End User is the military. Therefore any sale and export is subject to receiving an Export License. The latter is issued after submission of an original End User Certificate which the applicant exporter receives from the Customer End User and submits to the authorities of the exporting country alongwith a description of the materiel to be exported. The latter is essential as it leaves no doubt whatsoever as to the construction and application of each article exported.

This practice was strictly followed by AML in all export contracts and tens of thousands of countermeasures were exported shippedby the cargo airline to various customers. The export license was presented to the Customs (Douanes / Zoll) every time a shipment was effected.
